So often we tell brides about Trash the Dress sessions and receive a look of shock blended with horror. And we can respect not wanting to really TRASH a dress, but come on, you spend so much money on a beautiful gown, why not have some fun in it? Bring the husband too! Erin took our challenge and came away with some amazing pictures, and an awesome excuse to wear that gorgeous gown again!

What a Day for Dominic & Izella! They were married at St. Ambrose on the Hill where NO one (including us!) got to see the bride until she made her grand entrance. Suspense + Beauty= Impact yay :) The English/Spanish mass was followed by some downtown photo ops. The wedding party braved the Keiner Plaza fountain and survived the trek to the Arch, girls in 4 inch heels no less!
The reception was at the elegant Falls in Columbia, IL where the band Power Play rocked the night away.

Well, I've certainly been a slacker lately! Paula has been doing all of the blog posts while I just sit back and relax... Well, its time to get back at it, so here's a little peak at Annie and Chris' wedding. Matt and I were lucky enough to get to be a part of this day, complete with a visit to the beautiful Shaw Nature Reserve, the one in Gray Summit. If you haven't been out there yet, you should go. This park offers a natural beauty that surpasses most parks we've been to. Annie and Chris had a beautiful ceremony, then off to the reception at Purina Farms, where Annie works. They couldn't have planned a better evening, filled with dancing and fun, and even a few animals for the kids to see. Thanks guys!

And the oscar for best wedding goes to....Amanda and Ben! Their classic hollywood style wedding was a must see. The starring couple was married at the Royal Theatre, a production that spared no details. Each guest wore black and white and was escorted by flashlight. Theatre candy was passed out during old movie previews. Amanda and Ben were married on stage and made their exit through showers of popcorn.
Their reception featured movie music theme songs and lifesize cutouts of famous actors. Two thumbs up guys, way up!

So, I'm at extended family Thanksgiving (yeah, yeah slow on the blog sorry) my aunt says to me..."i gotta senior for ya" I'm thinking ok, I like senior pics.. I can figure out the drive sometime. As we're talking I realize, she means my cousin. My cousin is a senior?! What?! Uh yeah and she's gorgeous. So if Kristen is a senior that means my baby cousin Jenna is a senior too. Wow did I age overnight! These girls are supposed to be 13 or something! I had to share some of their pics. We were at our wonderful Aunt Peggy's Mule Christmas Tree Farm. As soon as we found out Kristen had a winter wonderland cape, we just wanted to keep her outside forever! Alas, she had plans..something about a wedding. Sometimes the best thing to do on a Sunday afternoon is have a good talk about Cinderella or Spiderman, whether it be at a tea party or dangling off the side of a rock. We went with Crystal and Jamey to the "other" Shaw Gardens, you know, the one in Robertsville. There we found some amazing natural settings to help show off this cute couple. With over 450 guests at Megan and Doug's wedding, there wasn't an empty seat to be found. Following some I do's, we took Columbia by storm. In a little over an hour, our crew had tackled Shelter Garden's, the Tiger Walk, the Columns and oh yeah..Broadway. That's right baby! Perched out of the moonroof of a moving vehicle we were chased by a wedding party of 20+ running down the street. Throw in a trip to the old Big 12 and a rip roaring reception and our day was complete.

Ahh another Country Club! Brad & Mindy were married off the 18th hole at the Country Club of Missouri. The course provided a beautiful backdrop for the elegant ceremony, complete with string quartet. The cake topper was a reception owned by our favorite band Downtime. Mindy's uncle stepped in and wailed on the sax, oh make that two. Hole in one, guys!

Reality finally set in for Paula as she realized her baby brother wasn't a baby anymore. Crouching behind my camera didn't hide my tears for this wedding. I watched with pride as my family came down the aisle. My parents were beautiful. My niece was the perfect flower girl. My sisters looked gorgeous, and my brothers were nothing but smiles. All the hard work paid off as Don and Alexis became one. Then it was off for pictures...SIMON STYLE. Oh yes, a Farmall F-20 will now be the new wedding party transportation of choice. Here's to all the generations that sat in her seat! May you all enjoy life's ride.

We would like to welcome our newest Light Source addition, Noa. She was born on May 15th, at 5:15pm. Less than two hours old, and she was already smiling for the camera! Congrats Paula and James!

This week, we met Jaclyn and Jeremy for their engagement session. Much to our delight, they brought their baby, Riley, with them! We were able to get some family portraits at Shelter Gardens as well as some awesome shots of just the two of them.

Following our fabulous Friday, it was off to Columbia to meet Brian & Megan. Jackpot! The beautiful couple was married at Broadway Christian Church by Megan's grandfather. Ceremony music not only included brother on guitar, but grandfather on the dulcimer. A few pics were to be had at Shelter Gardens (where Brian proposed) cut short however, by 800 prom couples taking up prime realty. (we thought about kicking them out, but...) Stephen's Lake Park came to the rescue, and how convienient that's where the reception was.

Last weekend we were blessed with two beautiful weddings in one weekend. On Friday, we spent the day with Jesse & Quan. They were so great to grant all of our requests, even our sexy portraits in the middle of a bar. Their ceremony and reception were held in the Sheldon Concert Hall. Our day was complete though when we had the opportunity to photograph them in Sheldon Art Gallery.

What an amazing start to the wedding season! Susan & Aaron were married at the Piper Palm house in Tower Grove Park. Their reception was at the Forest Park Golf Club. Can you beat Tower Grove AND Forest Park pictures on the same day? Plus the wedding party was fantastic. To top it off, Aaron played sax with the band at his own wedding. Thanks guys! Best Wishes!

We decided if you were in St. Louis April 20th, you were at the Shaw Gardens. It was packed! Brian and Stephanie were troopers. During their first shot, a tour tram stopped right in front of us (yikes! we didn't plan that one) Any audience can see the fun that these two can have though :) We even learned what a foot ride was.

Bercile & Reggie

We had a great time last weekend at Lincoln University, where Bercile & Reggie first met. The beautiful campus provided some great locations for engagement portraits and we were even lucky enough to get a rainbow. Check out Bercille's hot yellow shoes too, we can't wait to see what her bridal shoes will look like!

Sarah and Adam

We were really excited to do an engagement session with Sarah and Adam. It was great working with a couple who are so comfortable in front of the camera. We shot at the beautiful Club at Old Hawthorne, the course clubhouse at Old Hawthorne, in Columbia. Since Adam is a chef there we were able to take a few shots in the kitchen. We really wanted to end the session early to exploit his culinary talents. Alas duty called.
